Our group of travelers arrived in Barcelona yesterday, October 11. Every trans-Atlantic flight reminds me that God must have created the human body to cross 7 time zones by ship rather than by jet airplane. There's something to be said to taking 7 days to adjust to 7 hours of time difference rather than the 7 hours it took from just Minneapolis to Amsterdam. All told we were "up" or at least semi-awake for about 24 hours. Nevertheless, Northwest/KLM airlines did a good job for us. In the era of bad publicity for airlines - this trip worked. All of us and all of our luggage traveled the 4,600 plus miles together and arrived at the same place, at the same time in Barcelona. We were promptly met at the Barcelona Airport by Royal Caribbeian staff and were transfered to our hotel in reasonable order. The Silken Hotel Diagonal is an interesting little boutique hotel that reminds you a lot of the South Beach hotels in Miami. Below are some views of some of our "happy" traveling company:
