Join with other wine enthusiasts for the second annual Cruise Planners European Wine Cruise.

Our group will be embarking on a journey to vineyards, wineries and other fabulous sights in the ports around the Mediterranean! The cruise departs Barcelona on October 4th, 2008 for a seven night cruise on board Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines’ Voyager of the Seas. We will visit Nice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Palermo and then back to Barcelona. Before embarking on the cruise you may choose to spend 2 nights in Barcelona and spend an afternoon at one of the quaint family wineries outside the city and then return for an evening with tapas and wine at one of the many sidewalk cafes.

Highlights: While you may choose from dozens of guided excursions in each port, some favorites for wine lovers include the following among many others!

1) In Naples – take an exclusive look at the excavations of Pompeii with a special tour of the original, now replanted vineyards. Walk the streets of Pompeii and then have lunch at the winery that exclusively makes wine from those replanted vineyards.

2) In Rome you can visit the Vatican, St. Peter’s, the Sistine Chapel, have lunch and taste the wines of the area before visiting the Coliseum in the afternoon.

3) After arriving in Florence you can begin a guided tour that takes you to the hills and vineyards of Tuscany. Visit a family winery, walk the gardens outside the villa, walk through the wine cellars and then sit down with your friends to taste the wines produced there.

4) While in the area of Nice you can simple enjoy sitting at a sidewalk cafĂ© on the Cote d’Azur sipping wine with your friends, old and new or take in a tour to the centuries old village of St. Paul-de-Vence with it’s shops, galleries and cafes.
